Our lecture programme offers ten lectures per year by Lecturers accredited to The Arts Society (formerly the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Society: NADFAS). There are no lectures in August and December.

If you are interested in becoming a Member of ASHER, please have a look at the Membership page and contact us using the Form.  We look forward to welcoming you. For your guidance the Annual Membership fee for members of ASHER with effect from 1st October 2021 is £48.00. Friends of Members are welcome to attend a lecture for a £5.00 donation, as a Visitor.  However they may not attend more than two lectures as a Visitor.

More information on The Arts Society at the national level is available at their website

For a wider view of other societies in the region, see the North East Area website.

Mercure Grange Park Hotel

Following the closure of the Willerby Manor Hotel, lectures now take place at the Windows on the Park Suite, Mercure Grange Park Hotel, also in Willerby.

It is hoped that Members will find this venue an acceptable alternative to the Pavilion Suite at Willerby Manor, which was used by ASHER and its predecessor HERAFAS for many years.

There is plenty of car-parking space at Grange Park.

The 2022 Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday July 19th at 10.30 am immediately prior to the Mary Glenn Lecture on Florence Nightingale from letters, diaries, and art by Karin Fernald.   PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS AGM AND ALL FUTURE AGMs WILL TAKE PLACE IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE JULY LECTURE, FOLLOWING THE CHANGE IN THE ASHER FINANCIAL YEAR.

The Arts Society Connected

Started during the pandemic, the Arts Society arranged for a series of short online lectures and other digital resources to connect with people through a shared love for the arts.   To find out more, visit The Arts Society Connected.
